Patricia Ann (Walters) Coats passed away Oct. 1, 2014, at her home, surrounded by friends and family, after a long battle with cancer. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with Dawn Young and Father Brian Shepley officiating. Burial will be in the Troy Mills Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
Pat was born Aug. 20, 1946, in Rockford, Ill., to Raymond and Mary Walters. She married her partner of 30 years, Michele Land, on Feb. 28, 2010. She retired from Rockwell Collins after 36 years. After retirement, she enjoyed working for the Fiegen family as a maintenance specialist at Capri Cosmetology College.
Pat is survived by her wife, Michele Land-Coats; her sons, Brad (Tammy) Coats and Jesse (Emily Klinefelter) Land; her daughter, Bracken (Jerime) Mitchell; brother, Bob (Becky) Walters; sister, Rae Lynn Walters; grandchildren, Susie Coats, Dalton Hawkins, Kelsey Wilson, Dante Land, Melia Land and Shayla Land; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a great-great-niece.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Walters; her mother, Mary McIntosh; and four brothers, Raymond Eugene, Joseph Dean, Kenneth Wayne and David Allen Walters.
Pat's family would like to send a special thanks to Kitty Smith for all of the help during Pat's final days with us.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
