Linda Marie Rhodes, 60, of Marion, died Wednes-day, Oct. 29, 2014, at her home. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at the funeral home in Marion.
Linda is survived by her husband, Roy; three children, Dustin Rhodes and Daniel Rhodes, both of Hiawatha, and Kelsey Rhodes of Marion; mother, Helen Driscoll of Marion; siblings, Marian (Mike) Loeffler and Brenda (Scott) Bertrand, both of Colorado, Carol (Brian) Davis of Missouri, Joan (Steve) Forsyth of Illinois, Gary (Lin) Driscoll of Cedar Rapids and Wanda (Vance) Gordon, Gregg (Kim) Driscoll, Brian (Sue) Driscoll and Sheila (Paul) Speral, all of Marion; father-in-law, Melvin (Em) Rhodes of Cedar Rapids; sisters-in-law, Su (Steve) Malamphy of Texas and Nancy Rhodes of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Mike Rhodes of Hiawatha; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Driscoll; and mother-in-law, June Rhodes.
Linda was born Sept. 4, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Thomas and Helen Driscoll. She graduated from Regis High School in Cedar Rapids, and went on to attend Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. Linda married Roy Rhodes on May 8, 1982, in Cedar Rapids. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She enjoyed baking, yard work, and making a good frosted meatloaf or mac and cheese for them. Linda loved to walk on the Sac & Fox trail with Roy Boy.
Linda was an angel on earth to many; one who flew to your side no matter what time of day, or level of pain. She fought valiantly to the end and will forever be remembered as a kind soul with a full heart.
