Roland E. Pederson, 95, of Coralville, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, at Lantern Park Care Center in Coralville. In accordance with Roland's wishes, no public services
will take place.

Roland Eugene Pederson was born July 25, 1919, in Iowa City, son of Andrew and Christina (Miller) Pederson. He attended school in the Tiffin area, where he grew up on the family farm. Shortly after school he served with the U.S. Air Force in World War II. After his military service he moved to Sacramento, Calif., where he was employed by the City of Sacramento for 30 years as a golf pro at Bing Maloney Golf Course.
In his later years he lived near Riverside, Iowa, and most recently, Coralville. Roland loved to golf and watched a lot of golf on TV. He enjoyed getting together with family and friends, and loved to travel in his motor home.
Roland's family includes his son, Robert Pederson of Clermont, Fla.; sisters, Violet Salsbury of Monticello and Mary Berry of Iowa City; a sister-in-law, Loretta Pederson of Iowa City; a special niece, Connie Salsbury of Martel, Iowa, who was like a daughter to Roland; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Irving and Paul Pederson; and three sisters, Esther Arn, Edith Brown and Betty Stratton.
