Sherri R. Justice, 65, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. A funeral service celebrating Sherri's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, Dave; sons, Joe (Nancy) Justice and Jeff Justice, both of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Nathan, Hailey, Natalie, Carson and Sage; mother, Blanche Homire of Hiawatha; mother-in-law, Martha Justice of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Patsy (Bob) Brolling of San Antonio, Texas, Rodney (Donna) Homire of Dallas, Texas, Rhonda (Randy) Crouse of Cedar Rapids, Terri (Andy) Shifflett of Cedar Rapids and Lori (Gary) Nelson of Owatonna, Minn,; also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Homire; and niece, Dawn Homire.
Sherri Renee Homire was born June 19, 1949, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd and Blanche (Weisert) Homire. On Oct. 28, 1967, she married David Lee Justice in Hiawatha, Iowa. Sherri and Dave owned and operated Justice Electric Co. for many years where she was office manager.
Sherri was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, fishing and spending time with her family. Most recently, she and Dave were enjoying their retirement in Florida over the winter months.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
