Jamie R. Kennedy, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital. Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, where a visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Entomb-ment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his significant other, Mary Wolverton; his children, Linda Kaufman of Laveen, Ariz., Margaret Burgess of Irvine, Calif., Forrest Trimble of Cedar Rapids, Pamela Hoffman of Bourbonnias, Ill., and Frank Trimble of Hiawatha; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jamie was born Aug. 8, 1930, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of James and Hazel (West) Trimble. Jamie worked for Northwestern and Milwaukee Railroad and Allen Motor Co. in Cedar Rapids.
He was a member of First Christian Church.
Jamie loved to visit with people. He was a storyteller and loved sharing a great joke with his friends. Mary and Jamie enjoyed traveling to the Amanas, Clinton, Independence and Waterloo. They often ate breakfast at the Hy-Vee on Collins Road.
A memorial fund has been established by the family.
