Pratibha M. Kamath, 73, passed away peacefully Sept. 26, 2014. A longtime resident of Iowa City and
Coralville, Pratibha spent every moment caring for her beloved husband, Madhav, and her two sons, Anant and Jayant, who meant the world to her.
Pratibha devoted her life to helping people and volunteered at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Pratibha was an unbelievable fighter in adversity and lived every day to its fullest. She was a phenomenal cook and enjoyed shopping and traveling with her family.
She will be missed immensely by all who loved her.
Pratibha is survived by her husband, Madhav Kamath, with whom she enjoyed 48 happy years of marriage; her two sons, Anant and Jayant Kamath of Coralville; her brother, Suresh (Mumbai, India); and sister, Gita (Mumbai, India).
She was predeceased by her beloved father (Narayan), mother (Radha) and cat (Munu-Bear).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice.
The Kamath family extends a sincere thank- you to the skilled and caring physicians and oncology nursing team at University of Iowa Healthcare and the compassionate nurses from Iowa City Hospice who cared for Pratibha.
