Larimer, Esther Louise (Wolfe)
Esther Louise (Wolfe) Larimer, 84, of Sun City, Ariz., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Survivors include her daughters, Rebecca (Ted) Grenis of Ely and Sherrie (Kevin) Northway of Springville; son, Rollin Larimer of Urbana; four grandchildren, Clark Northway of Denver, Colo., Brock (Myleena) Grenis of Iowa City, Laura (James) Woodland of Springville and Brooke Grenis of Cedar Rapids; three great-grandchildren, Cecelia Northway of Springville and Brinson and Kenlyn Grenis of Iowa City; sister, Betty Rutherford of Marion; brother-in law, Tony Nuttall of New Mexico; three nephews and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rollin and Laura Wolfe; her sister, Helen Nuttall; granddaughter, Emily Grenis; and husband, Marvin Larimer.
Esther was born Dec. 28, 1928, in Hampton, Iowa. She loved swimming and was in the Hall of Fame for synchronized swimming. She spent most of her life teaching swimming to young children and managing swimming pools both in Iowa and Arizona. She loved hiking in the mountains and collecting beautiful rocks and was president of her rock hound club.
She was a very kind, compassionate and caring person. She loved to take pictures whenever she could. She had a beautiful smile and loved being around people. She was a great friend, mother and grandmother.
After visiting Arizona for many years, she met Tony Seminora and moved there permanently. Tony and Esther spent 33 years together and he was by her side when she passed way. They enjoyed dancing, dining and taking drives in the mountains.
She was loved greatly and will be missed by all.
