Gardner, Mary Lois

Mary Lois Gardner, 86, of Marion, died at Northbrook Manor on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, by Chaplain Jeremy Hudson, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Hazleton.

Survivors include her daughters, Joan (George) Moger, Brenda (Arlon) Parish and Margaret Hardman; sons, Jerry (Gloria) Gardner and Roger (Judy) Gardner; sisters, Eleanor Sortore and Beverly Aichele; brother, James Copp; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mary was born Aug. 23, 1927, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Johnson) Copp. Mary was a homemaker and valued time spent with her family. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed canning vegetables and homemade jams. Mary also liked to listen to blue grass music.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wade; brothers, Alvin Copp and Franklin Copp; and granddaughter, Jennifer Hardman.

Memorials are suggested to St. Luke's Hospice.
