Lyzotte, Anna Marie
Anna Marie Lyzotte, 92, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, in Casper, Wyo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 500 First Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. David Beckman. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, with a short vigil service at 5 p.m. Burial is at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include three daughters, Sister Kathy Lyzotte OSCO of Our Lady of the Mississippi Abbey in Dubuque, Diane Lyzotte (Bob) Huber at the University of Iowa College of Nursing of Coralville and Jeanette (Neil) Murrell of Casper, Wyo.
Also surviving are a sister, Petronella (Nellie) Jones of Alberta, Canada; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Anna was born Aug. 18, 1920, in Castor, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Antonius Franciscus and Maria Cornelia (Pals) Van Hoek. A homemaker, she married James L. Lyzotte on Oct. 19, 1944.
Anna was a longtime member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, however due to renovation, her funeral mass is being held at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
