Eilers, Lou Mae
Lou Mae Eilers, 91, a resident of Willow Gardens, Marion, formerly of Dyersville, died Sunday, May 19, 2013, at the care center. Memorial Mass: 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion. The family will greet friends one hour before the mass Friday at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Dyersville.
Survivors include her children, Maggie (Dick) Beavers of Marion and Georgia (Mike) Wrightsman of Spencer; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Arlene Spellerberg; and brother, Ed Bockenstedt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; her brother, Arvin Bockenstedt; her son, Steven Clemen; and her granddaughter, Amanda Beavers.
Lou was born Feb. 1, 1922, in Dyersville, Iowa, the daughter of George and Agatha (Krapfl) Bockenstedt. She was a graduate of Colesburg High School. Lou was first married to George Clemen, he passed away in 1955. She later married Eugene “Nifty” Eilers, Eugene passed away in 1985. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion.
