Kruger, Margaret J.

Margaret J. Kruger, 90, a resident of Heritage Nursing & Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids, died there Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013. Memorial Service: 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. William B. Harnish. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Inurnment: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her children, Dale Kruger of Roseville, Minn., Dean (Linda) Kruger of Newhall and Mary (Bob) Swalley of Rosemont, Minn.; grandchildren, Adam Swalley, Sara Kruger, Neil (Katy) Kruger, Nick (Ashley) Kruger and Maggie Kruger; great-grandchildren, Jovie, Anna and Livi Kruger; and a brother, Orville (Laura) Duvel of Waukon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; daughter-in-law, Rose Kruger; sister, Arlene Kugel; brothers, Lloyd “Tim”, Irvin and Normal Duvel; and special friend, Harlan Marten.

Margaret was born May 5, 1923, the daughter of Albert and Minnie (Klein) Duvel. On Oct. 10, 1940, she was united in marriage to Vernon C. Kruger. Margaret enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, old country music, shopping and cooking.
