Cromer, Odetta E.
Odetta E. Cromer, 95, of Tipton, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Tipton. Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 3, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at the United Methodist Church, Tipton. Burial will be in Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
A memorial fund dedicated to Camp Courageous of Iowa has been established.

Odetta was born June 26, 1918, to William and Bertha Wildasin, on the family farm in Moscow, Iowa. The youngest of eight children, she graduated from Wilton High School in 1936 and attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught at South Union School for three years. She married Curtis A. Cromer on Oct. 22, 1938, in Clinton, Iowa. She was blessed with two sons: William (Kathleen) of Des Moines and James of Casselberry, Fla. Odetta worked at Phelp's Furniture as an interior decorator and at John Deere Implement for 18 years. They then retired and moved to Florida for 15 years.
Survivors include her sons, William C. (Kathleen) Cromer and James A. Cromer; grandchildren, Melody (Mark) Hunwardsen, Jim Cromer Jr., Nathan and Jason Cromer, Faron Drager, Aaron (Crystal) Kephart and Annete Kephart; 16 great-grandchildren; and a granddaughter-in-law, Simone Cromer of Sarasota, Fla.
Odetta was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, husband, and grandson, Michael.
