Joslyn, Harley D.
Harley D. Joslyn, 77, died peacefully Friday, March 29, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held at a later date, with interment at Silver Creek Cemetery. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, is caring for Harley and his family.
Surviving are three brothers, Hareld (Dorla) Joslyn, Great Falls, Mont., James (Marilyn) Joslyn, Aurora, Colo., and Dennis (Suzanne) Joslyn, Monticello; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Harley Dean Joslyn was born July 7, 1935, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Hareld and Fern Hindal Joslyn. Harley was raised on a farm west of Oneida and attended Oneida schools. He moved with his mother from the farm to Oneida. Harley later moved to Davenport before returning to Delaware County and living at the Penn Center. He has been a resident there for the past 37 years.
Harley loved sports of any kind, especially NASCAR racing. He enjoyed family reunions, going shopping at Walmart, and his daily walk from the Penn Center to Delhi and back visiting with anyone he encountered.
