Kourtis, Mary Clark
Mary Clark Kourtis, 58, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital. Memorial Services: 2 p.m. Friday at the Ellis Park Overlook Pavillion by the Rev. Clayton George. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include children, Tim (Barbara) Slaughter and Angela Townsend, both of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Sue, Alan and Glenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mae; siblings, Leland, William, Gene, Kathy and Archie; and infant son, Charles.
Mary was born Oct. 5, 1954, in Mason City. Mary was a well rounded woman, loved by many. She enjoyed music, singing, outdoor activities, arts and crafts, and the friends she talked to on the CB radio. She was known as “Sneakysnake.”
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
