Homer A. Clark, 85, of Anamosa, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the Anamosa Care Center, with his wife and family by his side. A celebration of life service with military honors will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 1, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa with Pastor Katie Lowe Lancaster officiating. Dinner and fellowship will be held following the service at the church. A private family inurnment will be held in the Linn Grove Cemetery in Martelle, Iowa.
Homer is survived by his wife, Lorraine; children, Scott Clark (Paula) of Oshkosh, Wis., Jolene (Bernie) Keeney of Anamosa, Kenna Clark (Gregory David) of St. Louis Park, Minn., Tamara Schafbuch (Kevin) of Cedar Rapids and Lance Clark of Gainsville, Ga.; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertie and Frances Clark; sisters, Mary Schmidt, Nelliavene Bunce, Doris Sealls and Agnes Bliss; brothers, Huey, Oliver, Howard and Harley; and infant twin granddaughters, Autumn and Alaina Schafbuch.
Homer was born Aug. 19, 1928, in Martelle,
Iowa, the son of Bertie and Frances (Arbingast) Clark. Homer graduated from Martelle High School in 1947 and served honorably in the United State Army. He married Lorraine Augusta Bartels on Dec. 28, 1952, in Anamosa, Iowa. Homer worked at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids for over 29 years as a
machinist.
Homer enjoyed his garden, fruit trees and maintaining his acreage, as well as sharing his annual
bountiful produce with
family, friends and
neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, a
memorial fund has been
established.
