Gorsch, Laurene E. 'Tillie'
Laurene E. “Tillie” Gorsch, 83, died at her home in Millersburg on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Millersburg, with Pastor Paul Nus officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English. Burial will be in Community Cemetery, rural Deep River.
A general memorial fund has been established.

Laurene E. “Tillie” Gorsch was born June 22, 1930, in Iowa City, Iowa, a daughter of Casimar and Mathilda Koehn Dhondt. She grew up in Williamsburg and attended school there. Laurene was united in marriage to Lornie E. Gorsch on March 15, 1948, in Williamsburg. They made their home in Millersburg until 1988, when they moved to Williamsburg, later moving to Marengo and then back to Millersburg. Laurene worked in food service in the Millersburg and Williamsburg schools and for many years at Hometown Café and Dew Drop Inn.
She enjoyed baking, gardening and eating ice cream and pudding.
She is survived by sons, Donald (Phyllis) Gorsch of Millersburg and Bill (Mary Lou) McFadden of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Barbara Adix of Belle Plaine; six grandchildren, Heather Iburg, Joe Gorsch, Jimmy Gorsch, Christina McFadden, Jamie Meade and Shannon Almendinger; three great-grandchildren, Bentleigh, Tavian and Jaxon Gorsch; a sister-in-law, Nedra Dhondt of Parnell; and her best buddy, “Ty.”
Laurene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lornie in December 2003; a daughter, Catherine Gorsch; grandson, Brian Gorsch; and brother, Marvin Dhondt.
