GORDON L. TRIMBLE

Gordon L. Trimble, 76, of Marion, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at Willow Gardens after a short illness. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m.
Sunday.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra; one daughter, Julie (Randy) Wright of Omaha, Neb.; two sons, David (Anita) of Dallas, Texas, and John (Amy) of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Sharon (Marv) Herman of Brooklyn and Joyce Reynolds of Ames; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Wall of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James; and a grandson, Justin.
Gordon was born Oct. 23, 1937, in Cedar Rapids, the son of John and Genevieve Jakubec Trimble. He married Sandra M. Umsted on Oct. 21, 1960, in Cedar Rapids.
Gordon worked for Cartier Jewelers in the shipping department and retired from there after many years of service. Most recently he worked part-time at Gordmans.
Gordon proudly served in the Air Force and was an avid fisherman, both in Iowa and Texas. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially the time he spent with his beloved family. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial fund has been established.
