Baumbach, Peggy
Peggy Baumbach, 87, of Coralville, passed away Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab Center. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Iowa City, where family will greet friends one hour before the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ The King Lutheran Church.
She was born Aug. 6, 1926, in Arnolds Park, Iowa, to Charles and Ethel Kenison. She graduated from high school in Whittier, Calif., in 1944. Peggy married George Baumbach on April 27, 1946, in Des Moines.
Peggy spent her years as a housewife and helped do paperwork at her husband's business, George's Body Shop. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, playing cards, baking cookies and spending time with her family.
Peggy is survived by her husband, George; two sons, Gary (Diane) Bambach and Mark (Kari) Baumbach; one granddaughter, Sarah Bambach; three stepgrandchildren, Dylan Schwendeman, Leslie (Chad) Olander and Rachel (Gary) LeTendre; one great-grandchild, Charlotte Benson; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Jack LeTendre and Ashton LeTendre; and one brother, Jack Kenison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Elizabeth Roberts, Helen Kenison, Rena Cother and Beulah Gibson; and one brother, Carlton Kenison.
