Mary P. Hernandez, 102, of Oelwein, Iowa died Thursday evening, July 4, 2013, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Rosie and Kent Casey in Oelwein. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein. Visitation: 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, with a C.D.A. Rosary at 4 p.m. and Parish Scripture service at 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.
A memorial fund has been established for Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Mary is survived by her two daughters, Chelo Collier of Cedar Rapids and Rosie (Kent) Casey of Oelwein; son, Richard (Tawni) Hernandez of Waterloo; two daughters-in-law, Grace Hernandez of Evansdale and Joan Hernandez of Oelwein;
21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Esther Sanchez of Gary, Ind., and Alberta Cordova of Gary, Ind.; brother, Ralph (Emily) Duenas of Gary, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Vicenta Hernandez; stepfather, Alexander Duenas; husband, John O. Hernandez; two sons, John M. Hernandez and Robert Hernandez; two grandsons, Rob Casey and Dave Metcalf; granddaughter, Anna Hernandez; son-in-law, Beryl Collier; two brothers, Larry Duenas and Jesse Hernandez; sister, Linda Hernandez; and two daughters-in-law, Alice Hernandez and Norma Hernandez.
