Kitch, Ronald J.
Ronald J. Kitch, 83, a resident of Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of 916 Sixth St. SW, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at the care center following a lengthy illness. Ronald's wishes were to be cremated and that no services be held. A Celebration of Life memorial will be planned in the future. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Ron was born July 3, 1930, in Milton, Iowa, and graduated from Milton High School in 1948. He served as an MP in the Korean War from 1949-1952. Ron married Betty on April 13, 1957, in Iowa City. He was employed at King's Material for 37 years.
Ron is survived by a daughter, Juanita (Ray) May of Phoenix, Ariz.; a son, Tim (Laura) Riley of Vancouver, Wash.; sisters, Shirley Kitch and Rita Vandersnick of Fairfield; cousin, Dick Heater of Keosauqua; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Betty; his parents, Howard and Cecelia Kitch; brothers, Wendall, Marvin, Ruben, Donald and William; sister, Jean; and a granddaughter, Roberta.
