Moore, Scott L.

Scott L. Moore, 44, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at his home suddenly from complications of asthma. Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Memorial service will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer officiating.

Scott Lee Moore was born May 6, 1969, to Robert P. and Sharon Moore Aukerman. Scott was in the marching and jazz band at Washington High School, where he graduated in 1987. He was active in the youth group at St. Paul's United Methodist Church and participated on three of their mission trips. He attended college for 3 ½ years. He was united in marriage to Leeann Kos on Aug. 14, 2004, in Cedar Rapids.

He enjoyed fishing in Canada, playing games with his son, John, riding bikes with his family and going to the Clear Lake cabin. He was an avid skier. He loved to organize tailgating at the Iowa games, ski trips to Jackson Hole and Colorado.

Scott worked at Go Daddy and enjoyed his job. Before Go Daddy, he worked for United Van Lines and Mayflower Transfer. He was very friendly and could go anywhere and would encounter someone he knew.

He loved his son, John, very much and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Leeann; son, John; mother, Sharon (Gordon) Moore Auckerman of Batavia, Ill.; brother, Rob Moore of Cedar Rapids; stepsisters, Cindy Zvala of Schaumberg, Ill., Lori Falk of Naperville, Ill., Randi (Deric) Littrell of Schaumberg, Ill., andKelli (Dave) Key of Huntley, Ill.; nieces, Jerica Moore of Atkins and Stacey Moore of Seattle, Wash.; grandniece, Danica; and many nieces and nephews on the Kos side of the family.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Robert.
