Edward Charles Martin, 83, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at the Hiawatha Care Center. A memorial service celebrating Ed's life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Cedar
Memorial Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Dave Higdon officiating. Inurnment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include his sister, Betty Goldsberry of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Bev Martin of Central City; nephews, Terry (Marcia) Martin of Des Moines, Larry Martin of Hiawatha, Daniel (Pam) of Central City, Kenneth Martin of Central City, Jim (Connie) Goldsberry of Solon and Donald (Shelley Bohn) Goldsberry of Bradford; nieces, Pamela Jacob of California and Cindy (John) Salat of Cedar Rapids; and niece-in-law, Linda Goldsberry of Amana.
Also surviving are many great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Bill Randall; brothers, John and Kenneth; brother-in-law, Donald Goldsberry; sister-in-law, Bethyl Martin; and a nephew, Richard Goldsberry.
Edward Charles Martin was born Oct. 28, 1930, in Perry, Iowa, the son of Edward and Angeline (Windsor) Martin. He graduated from McKinley High School in Cedar Rapids and then worked as an inspector at Collins Radio/Rockwell Collins,
until his retirement. Ed
enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and especially
enjoyed being with his
family.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
