ROGER BUSSEY

Roger L. Bussey, 59, of Fairfax, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died early Monday, July 21, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, following a brief illness. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday, July 24, at Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father Christopher Podhajsky. Burial will be at a later date at Saint John's Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 Second St. SE, Cedar Rapids.
Roger is survived by his wife, Debra; daughters, Tamara Boxa and husband Dustin and Jaclyn Martin and husband Joe, all of Fairfax; and grandchildren, Macy and Dustin Boxa
Jr. and Jacey and Joseph Martin Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Durward and Irma (Kasal) Bussey; and his brother, Dean.
Roger was born March 13, 1955, in Belle Plaine. He married Debra A. Toale on June 21, 1975, at Saint John's Catholic Church in Independence. Roger built and serviced computers. He was a member of Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Roger was a gifted musician playing drums, keyboard and also singing. He enjoyed collecting Beatles memorabilia.
A special thank you to Dr. Ghosh and staff and the Mercy nurses and staff on Zone 41 for the wonderful care they gave Roger.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to
the Anna Purna Ghosh Foundation.
