John Gary Pavek, 53, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully at home on Thursday, June 19, 2014, from
complications of ALS. Friends may visit with the family on Monday at Teahen Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m.
John is survived by his wife, Jub; father, John J.; brother, Jeffrey; and sister, Teresa Walker, all of Cedar Rapids; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose; two uncles and one aunt.
John was born May 19, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, the son of John and Rose (Barnard) Pavek. He married Jub Piyaphan on Oct. 24, 2007, in Cedar Rapids. He worked for many years at 3D System.
John enjoyed watching hockey, NASCAR, drinking a cold Bud Light and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes. He loved living in Germany and tasting German beer.
