Lois Mae Cross, 79, of Cedar Rapids, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 6, 2014, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Visitation will be Monday, June 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar
Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, with a visitation beginning an hour before, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Entombment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Harry Leonard Cross of Cedar Rapids; five children, Bruce (Linda) Cross M.D. of Clovis, N.M., Timothy (Betty) Cross M.D. of Mason City, Mark (Sally) Cross of Cedar Rapids, Cindy (David) Thiede of Cottage Grove, Minn., and Julia (David) Ferris of Grand Rapids, Mich.; 13 grandchildren, Kelley Kennedy, Nicholas, Kimberley, Benjamin and Andrew Cross, Jason and Brian Cross, Zachary Cross, Matthew, Daniel and Sarah Thiede, Spencer and Bailey Ferris; four great-grandchildren, Nicole and Nathan Kennedy, Benson and William Cross; three sisters, Kay Beth (Larry) Wichmann of Cedar Rapids, Suzanne (Thomas) Radeke of Boise, Idaho, and Georgia (Steve) Decker of Winthrop.
Lois Mae Cross was born Sept. 22, 1934, in Marengo, Iowa, the daughter of Orland and Evelyn Heller Fiser. She married Harry Leonard Cross on July 25, 1953, in Marengo.
Lois was a rock to her family and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a loving and caring person, who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Memorials in Lois' honor may be directed to the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center in Cedar Rapids or Hospice of Mercy.
