Smittkamp, Matthew R.

Matthew R. Smittkamp, 52, of Little Rock and Camden, Ark., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his father, James of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Chad of Lake Tahoe, Nev., and Terry of Atlanta, Ga.; and two sisters, Leah Noelle of Waterloo and Robin Hobbs of Washington state.

He was preceded in death by his mother, and a brother, Jimmy.

Matt was born Jan. 23, 1961, in Waterloo, the son of James and LeAnne Gleason Smittkamp. He worked for several years for Gregg Owens Tree Service in Little Rock.

He was an avid outdoorsman: fishing, hunting working his dogs and enjoying life.

He was a wonderful son, brother and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and love him.
