Services: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor John Caughron. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home. Burial: Shueyville Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Gar; children, Steven Meeker of Cedar Rapids and Monte (Shelly) Ruprecht of Toddville; grandchildren, Taryn and Bryce Meeker, Mitch, Myles and Riley Ruprecht; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Gavin Ruprecht; sister, Marilyn Meyer of Eden Prairie, Minn.; and brother, John Meyer of Brooklyn, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy was born June 1, 1938, the daughter of Claire and Opal (Robertson) Meyer, in Grinnell, Iowa. For 30 years, Nancy worked in the accounting department at Wilson's Meat Processing Plant and then worked for Von Maur, where she sold clothes in the women's department. On March 19, 1982, she was united in marriage to Gar Ruprecht in Las Vegas, Nev.
A people person, Nancy enjoyed visiting with everyone she met as she never met a stranger. She enjoyed dining out, traveling, and as a die-hard Cub fan, loved watching the Cub's game and golf on TV. Nancy also enjoyed getting together and socializing at monthly luncheons with her friends. Nancy and Gar did many activities together, rarely would you see them apart.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous in memory of Nancy.
