Malone, Leone 'Lee' E.
Leone “Lee” E. Malone, 88, of Marion, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013. Private family memorial services will take place. Burial will be at a later date in Center Point Cemetery, Center Point. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Malone, David Malone and Timothy Malone; four daughters, Meribeth Malone, Rebecca Cruise, Jennifer Fredrickson and Michal Malone; three siblings, Loraine Pearson, Lenore Tjaden and Dick Salo; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lee was born March 3, 1925, in Superior, Wis., the daughter of Severt and Ilma Salo. On Nov. 17, 1944, she married Robert Malone in Chicago. After her husband retired from the Navy, she served as a cook at both Cedar Rapids Christian School and Cono Christian School for many years. Lee also served as a Sunday school teacher and child evangelism teacher at Cedar Rapids Bible Chapel. Her last place of employment was at Aid to Women (Bridgehaven) as office manager and volunteer. She also attended Noelridge Park Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; daughter, Cynthia; and brother, Leo.
Memorials are suggested to the House of Hope in memory of Lee.
