William Paul "Bill" Dietze, 40, of Luzerne, died Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 12, First United Methodist Church, Marengo, with the Rev. Matt German officiating. Burial will be in Sumner Township Cemetery, Ladora, Iowa. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.
Bill is survived by his wife, Connie; a son, Zach Reynolds (Catie Geater) of Van Horne; two daughters, Kaitlyn Reynolds of Williamsburg and Katie Blake of Lone Tree; seven grandchildren, Justess, Braedyn and Alannah, Raynin, Cohen and Temperance, and Preston; his mother, Linda Dietze of Marengo; two sisters, Susan Kaster (Dale) of De Witt and Lisa Dietze of Cedar Rapids; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Red Dietze; his grandparents; and his mother-in-law, Joyce Reynolds.
William Paul Dietze was born Jan. 23, 1974, in Marengo, Iowa, the son of Leslie P. "Red" Dietze and Linda Stephens Dietze. He graduated from Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids in 1993 and attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, taking courses for small engine repair. He was employed as a die setter with Montezuma Manufacturing.
Bill was united in marriage to Connie Reynolds on May 31, 2003, at his parents' home in rural Marengo. He enjoyed fishing, camping and boating on the river. He also enjoyed working on small motors. He loved his family and especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren.
