DANIEL NEVINS
Lisbon
Daniel M. "Hawkeye" Nevins, 58, of Lisbon, died at his home on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lisbon United Methodist Church. The Rev. Tom Mattson will officiate. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church, where there will be a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; a daughter, Jennifer Imler, and a son, Nicholas (Stephanie), both of Lisbon; his mother, Georgiana Nevins of Mechanicsville; two sisters, Peggy (Dale) Van Cleve of Ankeny and Diane (Tex) Clay of Lisbon. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Hannah Brandt, Kasey and Ryan Nevins and Kylee Imler; and his mother-in-law, Thelma Hubler of Lisbon.
He was preceded in death by his father, George.
Dan was born July 23, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, the son of George and Georgiana Nevins. He married Donna S. Hubler on April 26, 1975, in Cedar Rapids. Dan was a machinist and worked at FMC and later at Goss for several years.
Dan was a member of the Lisbon United Methodist Church, Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge and Sons of the Legion and was an avid Hawkeye fan.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, fireworks and especially the time spent with his many friends and beloved family.
His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed.
Memorial donations may be given to the Stained Glass Window Fund at the Lisbon United Methodist Church or the Honor Flights Program.
