Wachal, Donna
Donna Wachal, 91, of Walker, Iowa, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Crestview Acres, Marion. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 28, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Walker, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Judith M. Bunyi. Family will greet friends one hour before service time. Burial: Walker Cemetery, Walker.
Survivors include sister, Wanda Sellers of Vinton; several nieces and nephews; and special nephew, Tracy Sellers of Vinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Wachal; sister, Gertrude Wheeler; and brother, George Cross.
Donna was born on May 17, 1921, in Urbana, Iowa, daughter of George Eugene “Gene” and Ada May (Boyles) Cross. She attended country school near her home. On Sept. 13, 1945, she married William “Willie” Wachal. They settled in the Walker area. Willie passed away in 1977. In 2006, she moved to Crestview in Marion. Donna was a member of the United Methodist Church in Walker. She loved sewing and crocheting.
