Marilyn T. Knebel, 77, of Hills, died Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Mercy Iowa City. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hills, with burial to follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery
near Hills. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church, where a parish rosary will be shared at 10:45 a.m. before the Mass.
Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Iowa City Hospice or St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hills.

Marilyn Theresa Michel was born April 4, 1937, in Iowa City, the daughter of Glen J. and Marguerite (Droll) Michel. Following graduation from St. Patrick's High School in Iowa City, she attended Mary Crest College for several years. For most of her life she worked as a secretary-bookkeeper for various businesses in the area, including Stutsmans, Hills Bank and Riverside Grain & Feed. She was united in marriage to Henry "Hank" Knebel on June 20, 1959.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hills, A&R Society of the church and The Red Hat Society. She was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs, but most of all, she loved her time with her family and friends, es-pecially her children and grandchildren!
Her family includes her children, James Knebel (Mary) of Homestead, Henry "Jody" Knebel (Dana Chappuie) of Cedar Rapids, Beverly Bailey of Hills, Donna Knebel of North Liberty, Sandra Knebel of North Liberty and Vickie Knebel of Hills; three brothers, Clayton Michel (Mary Ann) of Riverside, Gerald Michel (Joan) of Hills and Steven Michel (Cynthia) of Kalona; a sister-in-law, Jackie Michel of Hills; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Margaret Knebel Crossen; grandson, Scott Knebel; three sisters, Anne Michel, Gwendolyn White and Marlene Eden; and two brothers, Richard Michel and Calvin Michel.
