VERNON REVES
Cedar Rapids
Vernon E. Reves, 66, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully at home from complications due to acute myeloid leukemia on Saturday, June 14, 2014. A celebration of his life, with family and friends, will be Saturday, June 21, at 3 p.m. For more information email bv.reves@gmail.com.
Vernon was born March 31, 1948, in Panora, Iowa, to Bernice and Howard Reves. He moved to Perry, Iowa, and worked for Kenworth of Des Moines in the parts department, later helping to open Kenworth of Cedar Rapids as the parts manager. Vernon was with Kenworth since 1982.
Vernon married Beverly Coyne on June 20, 1970.
He is survived by his wife; and two children, Todd (Melinda) Reves of Cedar Rapids and Kelly (Shannon) Turner of Dav-enport. He also is survived by his brother, Jack (Susie) Reves of Des Moines; and two grandchildren, Reilly and Cayden.
Vernon was a great friend and a loving husband, dad and grandpa. He was quick with a comeback and smile and always made sure everything was going to be OK.
Vernon was a patient and caring man who loved spending time with family and friends, especially on the river in his pontoon.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife's parents (Rita and Maurice Coyne); and granddaughter, Morgan Reves.
A special thank you to the doctors and staff of the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics Holden Cancer Center and Hospice of Mercy.
