Wilda L. Clemons, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at Living Center East from complications of a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Teahen Funeral Home, by the Rev. Nathan Williams. Burial: Raetz Cemetery, Atkins. Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Wilda is survived by her two daughters, Carol (Gary) McClelland of Granite City, Ill., and Becky (Doug) Erger of Atkins; grandchildren, Beth Kusel, Joshua and Jen McClelland, Traci and Tyler Rhodes, Karen and Jay Simpson, Paul Erger, Carrie and Nate Horman and Amy Erger; and great-grandchildren, Evan, Zachery, Tate, Ashlyn, Stephan, Paige, Caden, Peyton, Antoneio, Jayden, Kaylynn, Nolan and Brayden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, and several siblings.
Wilda was born Jan. 23, 1931, in Wilderness, Mo., the daughter of John and Ella (Aubuchon) Thompson. She married George Clemons on Dec. 5, 1947, in Venice, Ill. Wilda spent her life taking care of her husband and children as a homemaker.
She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
