Anthony Cyril "Tony" Neuzil, 85, of Marion, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at his home in Marion. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father Phil Thompson. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, with a vigil service beginning at 3:30 p.m. Burial: Dunkard Cemetery, rural Toddville.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Vicki; their four sons, Allen (Barbara) Neuzil of Davis, Ill., Blair (Nikki) Neuzil of Alburnett, Clint Neuzil of Atlanta, Ga., and Dale (Alissa) Neuzil of San Diego, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Shondra, Toni, Laura, Mark, Jacob, Amy and Maya; two great-grandchildren, Devin and Adrien; sister, Eleanor Jirak of Spillville; and brother, Cyril (Becky) Neuzil of Calmar.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Frank, August and Lewis Neuzil; and one sister, Justina Crabtree.
Tony was born March 26, 1929, in Spillville, Iowa, the son of John Frank and Eleanora Mary (Novak) Neuzil. He attended Protivin High School and married Victoria Cruz Lujan on Oct. 6, 1956, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville. Tony worked at Quaker Oats in Cedar Rapids for 37 years until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids and the Otter Creek Lions Club. Tony enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing cards; above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
