Pat was born April 10, 1946, to Gordon K. and Beverly J. (Garrett) Bixby in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Tipton High School in 1965. After graduation, Pat proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy. On Oct. 23, 1971, Pat married the love of his life, Margaret "Peg" Prochaska in Cedar Rapids, and together they had two daughters, Becky and Stephanie. Pat and Peg moved from Cedar Rapids to Tipton in 1976 when Becky, the eldest daughter, was one.
For 37 years, Pat worked for Alliant Energy. He spent his retirement years working for the James Kennedy Aquatic Center in Tipton. Pat was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tipton. Pat was an avid swimmer. He loved woodworking and car detailing. He had a 1988 Corvette that was his pride and joy for many years, but his passion was traveling in his RV, making wonderful memories working in South Dakota at Mount Rushmore. Above all, family was Pat's greatest love and priority in his life.
Pat is survived by his wife, Peg Bixby of Tipton; daughters, Becky (Marshall) Anderson of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Stephanie (Scott Donohoe) Bixby of Tipton; brothers, Tim (Gail) Bixby of Roseville, Calif., and Chris (Susan) Bixby of Corpus Christi, Texas; and his two grandchildren, Hannah and Ethan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Beverly (Garrett) Bixby.
