C. Dale Glick, 93, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. Services, with military rites: 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara (Mark) Underwood, a son, Robert (Chris), and a sister, Jeanne Nemec, all of Cedar Rapids. He also is survived by seven grandchildren, Robert and Bradley Glick, Scott Beachler, Mitch Dickson, Jay and Justin Andersen and Amy Holt; and 15 great-grand-children.
He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers, six sisters and a grandchild, Christine.
Dale was born Jan. 29, 1921, in Olin, the son of Elmer and Rose Dolan Glick. He married Lydia M. Wright on Jan. 26, 1943, in Olin. Lydia passed away in 2003.
Dale worked at Iowa Manufacturing for over 36 years, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of Kenwood Park United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Masons.
Dale served in World War II as an aviator in the Army Air Corps and received the Purple Heart and the Silver Star for gallantry.
Dale enjoyed camping and traveling with his wife in their RV throughout the United States, wintering in Texas.
He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Camp Courageous or the charity of the donor's choice.
