Olive V. Olsgaard, 100, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, in the Clarence Nursing Home. Services:
2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at the Clarence United Methodist Church with Pastor Carol Mart officiating. Burial: Evergreen Cemetery, Omaha, Neb., at a later date. Friends may call beginning at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia (Roland) Buck of Lowden and Sharon Engle of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Barry (Suzy) Dircks, Pamela (Tom) DesChatelets, Susan (Rick) Klatt, Deb (Carrie-Louise Daenell) Engle, Kerrin (Dave) Holsteen and Kathy Engle; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and a brother.
Olive was born July 23, 1914, in Comstock, Minn., to Clark John and Sena Thompson Askegaard. She married Orris Olsgaard on July 30, 1935. He died in 1984.
Olive taught school in Clarence and Omaha, Neb., for many years. She graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in elementary education. Olive loved to golf and go to Arizona. She also loved to boat, fish, dance and play cards. Olive was a big Huskers and Cubs fan and was active until she was 100, which she celebrated in July.
