Rachel (Akers) Long, 87, passed away Jan. 7, 2015, in Port Orange, Fla., after a fall.
Born Nov. 16, 1927, the daughter of James and Edith (Young) Akers, Rachel married Freddie Long on Sept. 18, 1948.
Surviving are her daughter/caregiver, Dixie Lee; brother, Vernon (Leota) Akers of Anamosa; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Akers, Nixa, Mo., and Darlene Akers, Guttenberg; second daughter, Lola Jean; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, address unknown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband (2007); brothers, James and Harley; sister- in-law, Inez; and nieces, Susan and Kathy.
No services per her wishes.
