DAVID "GONZO" GEINZER

David A. "Gonzo" Geinzer, 67, Tipton, passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, in his home with his family by his side. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with the Rev. David
Deirks and the Rev. Ron Lashmit officiating. Burial will follow in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
A memorial fund has been established in lieu of flowers.

David was born Sept. 22, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and was the son of Oliver and Jean (Toms) Geinzer. He was raised by Ed and Jean Geinzer Huelsenbeck. David graduated from Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids and worked for Knutson Construction for over 20 years, retiring at age 61 due to his health. David was united in marriage to Neva Delle McFarland on March 14, 1981, in Tipton.
He was an active member of Calvary Foursquare Gospel Church in Tipton, served as the past president of the Tipton Lions Club in 2012, a past member of the Tipton Ambulance and the Tipton Fire Department, as well as the Tipton Moose Lodge.
David is survived by his wife, Neva of Tipton; daughters, Tammy (Manley) Fryckman of Tipton and Diana (Chuck) Anderson of Clinton; sons, Dennis Schuelka of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Tim (Bobbi) Schuelka of Tipton; sisters, Julie (Davey) Thomas of Anamosa and Linda Cones and Norma Jean Bergen, both of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Robert Geinzer of Hollow, Mich., Mike Huelsenbeck of Minnesota and Gilbert Huelsenbeck of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Jean Huelsenbeck; son, David Schuelka; sister, Mary Meyers; and brothers, John Huelsenbeck and Robert Huelsenbeck.
