Zelda Caruthers-Huss, 82, of Urbandale, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, in Des Moines. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at Iles Westover Chapel in Des Moines, followed by burial in the Masonic Cemetery, Des Moines. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Caruthers of Des Moines; a sister, Eleanor Keiper of Urbandale; and a grandson, Daniel Caruthers, and daughter-in-law, Jodene Caruthers, both of Kearney, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Orville Caruthers and Noel Huss; and her son, David Caruthers.
Born in Hodgeman County, she lived in Topeka, Kan., and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, before moving to Urbandale in 1979. She worked for H&W Motor Express in Cedar Rapids and later for the State of Iowa in Des Moines from where she retired.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in West Des Moines.
