Diane D. Berger, 78, a longtime resident of the Coralville area, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at Windmill Manor Care Center in Coralville. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at Powell Funeral Home in Wellman, where there will be a time of visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in Diane's memory to support three causes near and dear to Diane and her family: Dialysis Care at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Alzheimer's research and Hospice Compasses.

Diane Dolly Dressler was born Jan. 20, 1937, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Arnold B. and Mildred (Schoen) Dressler. Growing up in Des Moines, she attended schools there, graduating from Lincoln High School. On March 28, 1964, she was united in marriage to Harlan G. Berger at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. In addition to raising their family, Diane worked for Drs. Skaugstad and McLaughlin at their Coralville medical practice for over 20 years.
She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, traveling throughout the United States, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, and stopping at the casino!
Diane was good natured with a great sense of humor and very kind soul who always put her family and friends first.
Her family includes her children: Bonnie Hogan, Dave Broadie (Cindy), Deb Negley (John) and Rick Berger (Judy); 11 grandchildren, Peter (Rebecca), Abigail, Chris, Ashley, Collin, Melissa (Nick), Brian, Jeremy, Emily, Max and Maddy; great-granddaughter, Henna; Diane's sister, Doreen Dressler; and her brother-in-law, Dennis Berger (Janice).
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harlan; grandson, Joseph; and son-in-law, Chuck Hogan.
Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service and Powell Funeral Home are caring for Diane's family and her services.
