Michael Davis, 65, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Funeral service: 4 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his daughter, Angelica Brooks of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Frances Davis Jordan, Ronnie Jones and Karen Jones; and many extended family members and friends.
Michael Wesley Davis was born June 28, 1951, to William Davis and Odella Jackson in Iowa City. He attended Washington High School and did many jobs over the years, most recently at Pearson Education.
He could often be found walking from place to place, enjoying the weather, and refusing rides. Michael was a family-oriented man who enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, several siblings and a grandson, Rodney.
