Charles E. West passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Chuck was born in 1944 to Robert and Pauline West of Waterloo, Iowa. He was an Eagle Scout and attended Iowa State University. He retired in 2006, after 20 plus years with Fabco Caterpillar, Madison, Wis.
He is survived by his wife, Diana; and brother, Gary West of Rochester, Minn.
Chuck was a master gardener and enjoyed volunteering as a member of the Jones County Master Gardeners. He was also a 4-H judge and volunteered at the Jones County Fair.
The family would like to thank the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clincs for Chuck's care.
A private memorial service will take place at a later date for family and friends.
