Janice K. Newman, 69, of Strawberry Point, formerly of Lamont, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017, at Strawberry Point Lutheran Home. Per Janice's wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial service: 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, conducted by Pastor Andrew Happ. Inurnment: Dunkard Cemetery, Toddville.
Janice is survived by her siblings, twin sister, Janece (Bruce) Greenzweig of Charles City, Duane (Nancy) Berger of Volga, Barbara (Garry) Rasmussen of Quasqueton, Kathy (Kurt) Haynes of Lamont and Kristi (Bob) Sass of Dubuque; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth D. Newman, in May 2017; and two brothers, James Berger and Kim Berger.
Janice was born Sept. 4, 1947, in Arlington, Iowa, the daughter of Howard and Eula (Seago) Berger. She graduated for Elkader High School in 1965. On Feb. 14, 1978, Janice was united in marriage to Kenneth D. Newman in Toddville. She was employed at Rockwell for 43 years. Janice enjoyed the outdoors, riding her bicycle, walking trails and taking pictures. She loved her dogs. Janice will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
