Waldo Schauperl, 94, World War II U.S. Navy veteran, died Aug. 22, 2017, in Marion. Committal services were Aug. 29 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, Mo. Pastor James Luders, Cedar Rapids, officiated. He cared for Waldo for several years as a volunteer through Iowa Hospice and later, Hospice Compassus.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; children, William Earl, Azle, Texas; Dwight, Higbee, Mo.; and Sheri Block, Marion; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and three siblings.
