Terry L. Tiede, 69, of Marion, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, with a memorial service to follow at 11:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Marion by the Rev. Dr. Howard B. Chapman. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Bernie Tiede of Marion; three children, Bruce (Christine) Acomb of Memphis, Tenn., Beke (Dave) Rybarczyk of Lockport, N.Y., and Dave (Jennifer) Tiede of Marion; five grandchildren, Angel, Eric, Alexis, Ariana and Isla; his mother, Inez Tiede of Stafford, N.Y.; five brothers, Tim (Joanne) Tiede of Stafford, Tom (Lynn) Tiede of Linwood, N.Y., Robert (Diane) Tiede of Linwood, Roy (Mary Fran) Tiede of Lexington, Ky., and Ron (Donna) Tiede of Attica, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles.
Terry was born June 7, 1948, the son of Charles and Inez (Mason) Tiede in Batavia, N.Y. On July 14, 1978, he married Bernadette Colantonio in Leroy, N.Y. Terry graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in mechanical engineering and worked for Square D/Schneider Electric before retiring in 2014.
Terry enjoyed woodworking, taking care of the lawn on his John Deere tractor, and spending time with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or Mercy Dialysis Center in Cedar Rapids in Terry's memory.
