Jean Ann Jones, 66, of Marion, formerly of Boone, passed away peacefully Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at her home surrounded by family. In agreement with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Boone First United Methodist, located at 703 Arden St., Boone, where the family will greet friends from 9 a.m. until service time. Private committal services will take place at a later date in Hawaii. Arrangements are in the care of Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marion.
Jean was born June 3, 1951, in Libertyville, Ill., to Charles and Betty Beach. She lived in Boone for 38 years and moved to Marion in 2014 to be closer to her youngest grandchildren. While living in Marion, Jean volunteered for three years at Indian Creek Elementary School, where she received the Unsung Hero Award.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Michael; son, Kristofer (Barb) Jones; daughter, Jennifer Stamy; five grandchildren, Jostin (22), Jorian (20) and Jevon (19) Jones and Tatum (5) and Marlo Jean (3) Stamy; and her beloved dachshund, Tucker (7).
