Marjorie P. Deal, 88, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, at home surrounded by loved ones. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at Lovely Lane United Methodist Church. Visitation will start at 10 a.m. Monday at Lovely Lane.
Marjorie was born March 22, 1929, the daughter of Hollis and Eleanor (Farrell) Peck. She was the family matriarch and best mother we could have asked for, while instilling strong family values in all generations.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; second husband, Max; sons, Scott (Elizabeth) and Michael Deal; sister, Jean Hasbrouck; brother, Ronald Peck; and her faithful companion, Fluffy.
Left to cherish Marjorie's memories are her children, Stephanie (Dick) Phillips of Cedar Rapids, Mark (Joan) Deal of New Glarus, Wis.; grandchildren, Brian (Wendy) Hagmeier, Brent Hagmeier, Nathan Deal, Jeremy Deal, John (Ashley) Deal, Laura Deal and Eric (Rachelle) Deal; and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Lovely Lane United Methodist Church or the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
