Marengo
Larry D. Waddell, 82, of Marengo, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, at Marengo Memorial Hospital. Graveside services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at Marengo Cemetery, with the Rev. Anni Thorn officiating. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.
Memorials may be contributed to First Presbyterian Church in Larry's name.
Larry is survived by his wife, Janice; sons, Kevin of Williamsburg, Brett of Marengo and Kerry Todd (Lesa) of Marengo; five grandchildren, Nick, Sara, Emily, Abby and Jon; and a great-grandchild, Harper Ann. Also surviving is a sister, Sandra Witte (Lloyd) of Coralville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Larry Douglas Waddell was born Dec. 25, 1934, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Arthur Douglas Waddell and Florence Marjorie Mohr Waddell. He graduated from Marengo High School in 1953 and married Janice Shaull on Feb. 13, 1956, at First Presbyterian Church in Marengo.
Larry owned and operated Marengo Monument Co. from 1953 until 1994. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marengo. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family.
